OUTCOMES

The major outcomes of the project have been:

A better understanding of how to apply cost-benefit analysis to coastal flood risk. During the course of the project a number of significant limitations were identified. But equally, progress has been made and a framework for decision-making has emerged; and

Stronger partnerships between the responsible authorities. Councils, State Government agencies and State Government departments have each learned a great deal about how to work together in the future.

This section gives a brief summary about some specific project outcomes, namely:

  • The establishment of a decision-making framework;
  • The principles of cost-benefit analysis; and
  • What the cost-benefit findings were.
